It really depends on the kind of guy that he is. Some guys use that as a way not to answer you right away, and they dont have to hurt you or let you down. Then some guys really mean it and really do like you, and just want to get to know you better before they make any kind of step forward as in making you his gf. Just make sure you read the way he treats you. If he is kinda stand offish then he was just using it as a easy let down. If he acts like hes into you then go for it and let him get to know you better.
